Why I am busy, and why I need you

This post is a bit of a rant, but moreso to keep you all up to date on me, and for me to have people to keep me accountable on all of my obligations.

As some of you have guessed, I have a lot going on:

1. I am a student. I have a double major in Political Science and Marketing, with a minor in Communications
2. I work nearly full time at Codename LINGO, where we are hiring more people due to growth
3. I just accepted a job as a Staff Coordinator for Eva for Mayor
4. I am a freemason, with meetings weekly
5. I am trying to still have a social life…

All, if you see me screwing around, or being lazy, please remind me of this post. I need to keep my nose to the grindstone for the next 6 weeks at least.

I’m 21!!!

This last Friday, I reached a milestone.

I turned 21!

True to form, I spent Friday night fairly low key-drinks with the family, friends, nothing too crazy.

Saturday, however, was an entirely different story.

I woke up way to early to get to the golf course, where we had a few beers. We then went to the Twins game, and enjoyed a few more.

After that, we went to Moto-i. Crappy service kept it from being a great experiance, but it was still fun. From there we went to Golden Leaf, on W 7th. Things got a little blurry from here on. I remember people buying me shots, and having a cigar. We then headed over to Tom Rieds, which is where I hit the wall. I had a beer, and a few more shots, and that was it for me. A full day of drinking had taken its toll on me, and I woke up hurting.

Since much of the night is blurry, here is the flickr set from it:

I need your help

sxsw_helpme

All you social media/web designers/interactive nerds, I need you.

I want to get my work to fund my entry to SXSWi 2010.

However, in the spirit of interactive marketing, I want to crowdsource this.

So, in the comments, tell me what I can take away from it.

If you have the best comment, and you come to my birthday next weekend, I will buy you a drink.

In advance, thanks for your help, and I am excited to (hopefully) see you all at SXSW!!

where I was when the world stopped turning

I remember.

Sept. 11th, 2001. 8 years ago.

1 week before my 13th birthday, sitting in my 7th grade classroom.

There was a rumor going around that a plane had hit a building. Soon after, all the TV’s were on, and all the kids were glued to the sets.

I called my mom (yes, I had a cell phone), and asked how our family was. Her relatives all lived in NY at the time.

They were all ok.

I remember crying, alot. I dont know why it hit me so hard, it just did.

And now, 8 years later, I feel like the day has lost its meaning. It is a solem day, not a rallying cry for any politicians.

I remember.

Do you?
